Don't make your sister drop maths. Suggest it if she struggles badly at it. I was very bad at maths but in year 12 I picked up and landed a band 6 and E3.

LOL,

I did no extension subjects... got 3 band 6s (general maths - 94, legal - 90, IPT - 90... all not that good scaling subjects), 1 band 5 (biology 84) and a band 4 in english adv. (79) and got 90.25 ATAR.

Therefore it's possible :)

I'd say it was the Polish (because a lot of native speakers do it rather than those who have picked it up at school thus everyone does well and scaling takes place) and with 2u maths you were up against the 3u and 4u people.

There are many ways to get what you want, in particular because you're so close to 90.

Best of luck

Lol, I got around the same ATAR: 89.25
I only got one band 6 though, band 5s and a band 4 (lol 79 - 1 mark off a band 5).

Although my subjects were mostly scaled fairly high: EngAd, Bio, JapContinuers, Studies of Religion 2 unit and Anicent History.

I also used one of those ATAR calculators and 2 marks in the right subject would of gotten me a 90 but I'm pretty content with my ATAR as I can get into uni which was my main goal. It sounds like you worked hard and you didn't miss your aim by a mile so I wouldn't be disappointed by those marks or ATAR.

I agree with what someone said about the language subjects, those can be pretty competitive and maybe maths brought you down...

If you're going for a uni course, I believe you can get 2nd and 3rd round offers?
