I have just had another 3 unit test and it is not so good

the question was a projectile motion with a given velocity(30ms)

i was suppose to Derive the Equation for horizontal and vertical velocity

so i did x=30tcosO
y=-5t2+30sinOt

i thought this was ok, but when in fact you have to

a=0
v=30cosO
x=30tcoso+c (c=0)

a=-10
v=-10t+c(t=0 c=32sinO)
v=-10t+32sinO
y.......

this was what you were suppose to do.
but i didnt do the deriving part and i got NO mark even for the right answer.
the teacher said that you cant get any marks unless you have done the deriving part and i lost 24% out of the whole test for this,and im really really stressed.
is this the case?

Yeah, the deriving part is the marks, and just putting in the answer would not gain marks, as it shows the marker that you have not understood the theory for the question.
If the question stated only for the answer, then you would get full marks, whether working or not.

how often will they ask u to "state" something

mayb "state the amplitude" or something like that will be an easy 1 marker...

yet in this case i think you would have needed to derive.. sorriz
