I was wondering how well i should be doing in year 11 as an indication of if i can handle 3u language in year 12?

I would say yes, but then again I did not do any languages-just applying what I know from my subjects.

extension languages are typically easier than the 2u equivalent, im speaking from experience - Chinese extension, and I've heard the same from most other languages. It's not like maths where 4u is significantly harder. The extension courses are in a whole way different, more cultural rather than pure skill (although skill does help).
