Hi guys I'm just wondering what mark do u need to get out of 50 inorder to utillise the high scaling of 3 unit maths towards your favour, for e.g i have heard that a mark above state average would put the scaling towards your favour and a mark below, the scaling would have no effect on you. Is this true?

Also what mark do i need to get out of 50 inorder to achieve a band e3, would a mark 30 out of 50 be sufficient?

Thx

If this helps, my sibling got a HSC mark of 40/50 (just band E3 = band 5 [80%]) for Extension 1 Maths and gained a UAI of approximately 88 (if that helps). But mind you - they also did religion and got 44/50, maths and got 86/100, physics was in the 50's, standard english in the 70's, PDHPE low 80's and I think geography also in the 80's. Mind you, they did their HSC in 2001 (7 years ago).

I believe a band E3 would be sufficient (i.e. 40/50 or better) - if that helps (my uneducated opinion only).

P.S I am pretty sure band E3 is 80-89%.

Wouldn't that get alligned up? so 89% would proberbly end up as an E4 i think.
sorry, I mean after the aligning process has taken place... i.e. an aligned mark between 80 and 89
