In defence of these people...and as a salvo at the media...these people have a sickness and a sexual desire of child pronography...they have a mental problem


We do not shame a person who cannot control their actions...or someone who cannot control what they do...this is the case with these people...this DOES NOT mean that they should NOT be locked up...rather it should be understood that these people sexual deviates often at no fault of their own...

In terms of abusing power when you are in power...everyone here has abused their position of power at some point in time...


humiliation and shame does not solve the problem of preventing child sex offences...rather vigilence and the implementation of prevention strategies and treatment for offenders is in order...

I actually agree with you *to an extent*. I don't think it's fair to say "they had no control and no choice". Everyone has choices. However I do agree that pedophilia is a sickness and whilst I agree that everyone who participates in acts of pedophilia or condones it through watching child pornography is disgusting and should be punished, often there is no move to understand how these desires/feelings came about. If there was more of a move to understand the root of such actions then maybe it could be more sucessfully prevented in the future.

In my experience with someone I know who would be technically considered a pedophile, I genuinely believe that deep down he is a good person. He's sweet to everyone and genuinely cares for his loved ones. He has never done anything to hurt a child in his life. However he has in the past looked at child pornography, something which caused a lot of bad blood between us, because this is obviously something I cannot and will not condone. I don't see it as a "victimless crime" or an indirect crime or whatever, because primarily of the principles of supply and demand. He was denied a real childhood by his stepfather, not in any sexual sense, but through constant beatings and degradation for almost 15 years. There are a lot of reasons why I believe he has developed the desires he now has and whilst I will never condone his fantasies, I support him in his quest to live a normal life.

In response to tattoedguy's posts - this isn't just children naked. In fact, it's not just children, it's INFANTS.

The police said they've found images and videos of toddlers and babies in BONDAGE SITUATIONS. This isn't just children naked - it's absolutely horrible. Little babies and toddlers are being tied up in absolutely disgusting ways, in fact, in much the same way as an adult would be depicted in a bondage situation - being hurt and being utterly violated.

You obviously don't have any little kids in your family or this would disgust you as much as it disgusts the rest of us, since we think of our little sisters or brothers or neices and nephews being treated like this and just get so angry and so revolted by these people.

These people are predators, whether they have a mental problem or not - of course they should be put in jail - this sort of behaviour can't go unchecked, people have to know it's wrong.

And about that guy whose parents dobbed him in for raping a girl - HE's the low one for raping someone, not his parents. They obviously felt no moral obligation to protect him any more, since it is now obvious to them that he has no morals of his own.
