well my goal was to get a 65 uai..
i havent done so well in assessment because i have slacked off, but in the end i pulled out everything i got, like studied 16 hours a day during our stuvac.

my hsc results came out to be

mathematics 2unit 72
biology 70
english 66
chemistry 65
physics 64

sighh, i wish to know if these are high scaling subjects. and that i dont know anything about uai or anthing about scaling.

i did the ret test but that was hopeless too i only got 61

i want to know if that helps.

my course that i chose was nursing at uws campbelltown.

u guys wouldnt happen to be able to make me feel a little better would you..

My girlfriend got a uai estimate of 86! omg..

Yeah. My friend who three years older than me got a UAI of 50 something.

He's now joined the army and is not actually living in a cardboard box in the streets.

That's the best inspiring story for 50 UAIs that I'm personally aware of.

I got a uai of 53.75 and have just finished my first year of Tourism at uws...

Is that a better story?

Then again, i did the RET test and got 73, so thats what got me into uni.

maths, bio, chem & physics are those types of subjects that are scaled up.
and..
well UWS UAI is pretty low, and especially for B.Nursing, cos they need us Nursing students.
Anyways, hopefully u get the UAI u want and u get into B.Nursing!

im in the same shoes as u bro, SAM predicted 50 for me :S but dont worry, my sis told me that you can still be able to get into a course in uni as long as they dont fill up and they dont require 75+ Uai points. cheer up

aww dont worri, most people get other offers and they take those!

and remember they will want as much nursing students as they can get ... so the UAI might go down lower this year!

what made u choose nursing by the way? if u dont mind me asking

im an idiot

i love science, and my original goal was to do medicine. but uws wont have medicine till 2007. but at the beginning of year 12 i start to slack off big time. like didnt do my assessments till the very last minutes. but i met this girl and now we are together. i think my motivation was only pulled up because of her.. she always wants to do medicine but she doesnt want to go to any other uni but uws.. so i thought, cool since my assessment marks are bad anywayz maybe i'll just study my ass off to get into nursing with her. and then from there i promised myself to take it seriously and hopefully get into medicine after 1 year.

well the hard work during the last couple of months before hsc began did come in handy.. but my assessment mark were damaged badly and it pulled down my hsc mark T_T

so i regret alot, and im kinda depress that the chance of getting into the same course as my girlfriend is really slim.. for some reason all my friends think that SAM is busted or something. they say my mark should earn myself atleast 60ish+

just hope their right. because one of my friends have similar subject he got near 70's for all subject except for his math he does 4 unit and did pretty well. and he got predicted 85. something!

wow anywayz.. i think we'll just have to wait till tmrw..

do u guys know anything about ret tests?

i want to know how that will help me.. i got 61 for it btw

look at the percentile each mark places you in.

i.e a physics mark of 64 puts you in the bottom 23.5% of the 2004 cohort. (which really annihilates your UAI, considering its a rank), simarly your chemistry mark places you in the bottom 25%

aww thats really sweet ~

Nursing u will find is just like doing a Medicine Degree, just more emphasis on the caring part!

Isnt the RET test sorta like...
If ur UAI was 59 n u wanted to get into a course which needed 60.. u can get into it because ur RET mark was 61 ??
