this is about money... more specifically med money
this is for NSW.. the bigger the shortage the higher the salary
pre-tax
intern yr ~42K ( 65-67K w/overtime)
residency ~54K (77K/OT)

now then u choose to do fellowship training.. and u must get accepted by a college.. or u stay a resident.
now ure training..
registrar.. variable from 22K - 60K... with training provided
each uni and college is different for this.. min. 3-6 yrs depending
then u start ure specialty..
OMFG..
GP ~ 106 K/yr
Surgeons ~150- 250k/yr
Pathology 200K +
Anaesthesia 250K
private pays more and better hours and some research... public has more teaching and research..
on average u spend 9 to 16 yrs of ure life on this.. u may double specialise too
