yep top of the state in 2003 was if im not mistaken, 98/120 or so. this year prob a lil higher due 2 the fact i was an easyer test. once every few years there is a freak who get 115/120, and are u ready 2 pronounce urself as him. im aming 4 96 or so as a scaled mark, if ur aiming 98% as a raw mark good luck... althou i advise u take care of ur other 6 units :D

2004 produced some pretty strong results, I think. 98 would be far too conservative. Even 2003 was 110 or so.

i agree with before, was it an easy test? also there is english to consider, it HAS to count so there is no point fucking it up then only counting 8 units. HSC is so bitchy...

ill give u a hint thou
with my subjects i would prob need as below 2 get a 99 uai.
Maths ext 2 - 96
Maths ext 1 - 97
Physics - 92
Cemistry - 91
English - 85

now 4 me 2 get these marks ill be lookin at about 4 hrz at least a day. if u want 2 set ur sites n 98-100 as a 4u mark, u may be restricted on ur study in other subjects but they may not need 2 be as good. jus aim 4 100% in everything u do and leave the administration shit to the guys that know wot they are talkn about

Look at the candidates. Archman, Laurie, Ngai...unless the bad luck to 10 people from 2003 continued on there is no way the top mark was 98.

As for some freak getting 115, I would still rate Archman and Laurie over anyone who's topped maths in the new HSC.

I think I've been interpreted in a way I didn't mean... :p

and pull up, good for you.

As for me, I know I'm too much a no-name to top anything :)

I simply think it is shows a lack of thoughtfulness when people make sweeping generalisations. And note I said 'add'; I knew what you meant.

Is it unusual for someone to get a higher mark for Ext 2 than Ext 1? (or the same mark for that matter). Coz I managed a 48/50 for Ext 1 last year, but I don't think I'll be doing it again even though I could improve after doing Ext 2 - but I'm aiming for a 96ish mark for Ext 2...
