From now until the HSC, I want to see if 05ers can compile a novel about some kid in the hsc. Hope this hasn't been tried before. Lets make BOS history with the first novel. Everyone contributes with one sentence/ paragraph - So here goes:

Ummmm....anyone know where to begin?

we could start by planning out the story first.. but that would be boring.... and lengthy

' A failure all his life (person x)....'

anyone wanna fill in the (....)

feel free to disagree.. we should try to agree on the beginning.. then develop the story...

Murf was 66 days away from his dreaded exams, and was quickly becoming a little ball of stress.

Murfy sat himself at his desk, rummaging through the piles of textbooks and notes he had accumulated since several months ago, trying to find himse.. a stress ball. The proximity of the HSC exams, ‘ahhh.. 65 days’ echoed through his mind and he began to hyperventilate, his head throbbed and the world of HSC evidence swirled around him with vertigo. In his confused state of mental instability it was clear he was embarking on the inevitable…journey.

"Murfy come down stairs, there's mail for you" cried his mother.

He slowly managed to pick himself up and carry himself downstairs. It was his UAC pin.

"Great" he thought. "Another reminder of the HSC. Can my life get any worse?"

"Yes..." said a deep and masculine voice with ample reverb.
"Who said that?" cried Murf, hiding under the kitchen table.
"Murf, I am GOD!"

Still whimpering under the table, Murfy used the new Super Duper Seen on Infomercial Letter Opener to open the envelope from UAC. Turning the piece of paper over, he admired the patented technology as he carefully peeedl off the backing. He then placed the letter on the white tiles, and instead of a boring 4 digit code, he saw....

...a golden ticket. The first line read:

Congratulations! UAC is proud to announce that you are the new owner of the 2005 Porsche Boxster S.

In his excitement, Murf forgot to read the fine print, which stated that a) he must get a UAI of 100 to obtain the car, and b) that it would involve him undertaking a physical journey to the island of Hmphatu, off the west coast of Australia.

How would he afford such a trip, and more so, how was he going to get that UAI of a 100. With both eyes on the prize, he decided that from tomorrow on he was going to change his bludgy lifestyle and begin his new life as a nerd...well at least until he got his Porsche Boxster S.
