I don't think myths are accepted so i wouldn't do it if i were you. There are plenty other texts you can do such as film, image, novel, cartoon, feature article, just to name a few.

You could always ask your teacher... :)

But yeah, I would doubt if they're accepted. I'd go with what Riviet said. A few others you can add to your list include poems and songs, but try not to analyse a poem if you're doing a poem from stimulus booklet, etc. :)

Yeah I agree, if its a documentary then its most definitely A-Ok. However, if you're nestling on like a generalisation of a myth, I would recommend you not to use it as a related text.

Why do myth when you have other good text types to do?

Lol, well one of the reasons why English advanced and extension is actually interesting, is because of creativity, we aren't restricted to a syllabus like in Chemistry, physics and even Maths. In English there are no rules, well there are some, but you know how to work around the rules or even work with them.

Using a myth in a way is creative, but because its a generalisation its most likely going to fall under the category of a documentary or a Movie. Don't forget alot of cultural myths involve many journeys, an example is the Tibetan marches that are done every year in September, the Tibetans believe that "walking long distances will purify the bad deeds that they have done...the more difficult the journey is, the greater the depth of purification".

[Omg lol you switched my English part of my brain back on...]

I'd say go with it....because its different and as you guys said, its creative...Cause the Eng Adv course is sooo overdone and most of the examiners say how everyones doing all the typical things, so yeah, if you have something different, go for it definately.

Having said that....dont get yourself into a hole lol...make sure you have that "textual integrity" part of it as well...so if the myth has a movie made out of it or something..that would be substantial and give you the basis you need...

good luck

If you're marked on originality, you would easily nail a 10/10. :)
