173 x 3 + 1=520
89 x 3 + 1=268
311 x 3 + 1=934
252 x 3 + 1='?'=757

its not the other way around because 84 x 3=252 already
can't get a whole number to times 3 and +1 to get 252

SonyHK's correct. Each of the numbers from 89 down around to 173 multiply by 3 and add 1 to get the number opposite to them in the circle. Therefore the missing number is 757.

For future reference, this type of question should be in the Appreciating the Beauty and Elegance of Maths forum. :)

^ it can also be asked in the medicine--->UMAT forum!!
mmmmmmmm maybe, but i dispute that. the UMAT doesnt test mathematical logic much. and the logic involved with section 3 (where this question is most suitably categorised into) doesnt involve calculations (like this question posted here would), rather it involves movement, positioning/orientation, and physical changes (like change in colour, size, etc...)

i also thought it was 757, but if u look that the circle u notice all the smaller numbers that are supposed to be multiplied are on one half while the larger numbers which are the outcomes are on the other half of the circle
