Hello,
I recently did my Trials for English Advanced Paper 1. The discovery question was on how discovery is generally associated with pleasure and excitement.
Now this question was fine, but I may have done something to unnecessarily jeopardise myself but I would like to know if it is actually much of a problem. I wrote what may be considered an unfinished paragraph? As in it was just a paragraph solely for my prescribed text.
To sketch, I initially did the following structure:
Theme 1 text 1
Theme 1 RT
Theme 2 text 1
Theme 2 RT
However, when I finished the paper with 10 minutes to go, I realised I could do some more for my essay. So I ended up with the following:
Theme 1 text 1
Theme 1 RT
Theme 2 text 1
Theme 2 RT
Theme 3 text 1
So my question really is whether or not I stand to lose marks for a "cohesive, logical response" by including that fifth paragraph without an accompanying related text paragraph. I have always been under the impression that the balancing for the texts should be something like 60-40, and here that's how the maths adds up.
Thanks
