I have a question. How do they decide which are your best 10 units? Do they pick your best 10 by looking at your hsc mark? Or do they scale all your units first then pick the best 10? Laz do you know its done cause I better in ancient than 4u maths for the hsc mark, but on laz seeker my 4u mark scales a lot better.

They decide your best 10 units based on your best 10 scaled units.

The UAC rescales your raw HSC marks for each subject and your scaled marks for each subject are recorded (not reported to students).

From the scaled HSC marks, the rank order of your subjects is obtained, allowing for the best 10 units to be included in the calculation of your UAI.

If you got a better scaled mark in 4 unit maths compared to history it simply means that you did better in maths (due to the extra competition and the fact that people who due 4 unit tend to do well in all the other courses compared to ancient history).
