interested in doing accounting at university..
what other major would be considered to go well with accounting and why?

also...had actuarial studies at the back of my mind...but don't see it as something that i really want to get into...(if i could..-_-)
but how does accounting + actuarial studies sound?
is it a combination that you would see many people taking?

thats like doing 2u maths and 4u maths.

if you do acst, you shouldnt be choosing accoutning as a major; finance, economics, maths seems to be more popular/better suited choices.

but yeh, do some investigating of your own and find out what will suit you.

you do need to be an intelligent fellow to be an actuary student. make sure you look into it well...ie future prospects, etc.

haha, okai, so marketing > accounting...

but id like to kno what would exactly go well with accounting?
or would it really matter at all/be able to change ones future career dramatically?...if that was the case, then i suppose it'd be down to personal perference?

Accounting and Banking/Finance are pretty popular combinations. Also Accounting and IT is popular too. At UTS at least they are probably the two popular combinations.

As for marketing being greater that accounting, it really depends on your personality. I mean not everyone can be a good marketer, even if you try and learn it at uni. With that said, not everyone can grasp the concepts of accounting, so either way I dunno. I guess what I'm trying to say it that marketing probably requires more creative thinking and accounting requires more logical thinking.

maybe it's just me but when ever i think of someone doing marketing i get an image of one of the phone people that calls everyone up and ask them if they are interested in such product...

accouting is dead boring.....it is not hard.....it's boring
if you can sit at a desk and read a textbook the size of yellow pages....pages and pages of examples with numbers then yeh perfect for you
