Hey is it just me or does everyone on here doing Acst seem to be working full time and do uni part time? I guess in a field like this...practical experience is a big factor
any experience is a big factor anywhere. if you have a chance to get experience dont' hesitate to do it.

stat271 and 272 are very different subjects. 272 is more mathematical and more logical. 271 is so much bs and hypothesis testing - rather tedious. i disliked 271 - the final was very hard also.

instead of studying now, u guys should socialise/smoke ganja/climb a mountain and do other assorted activities that you won't be able to when uni starts....

seriously, u've got 4 years of hardcore studying ahead of u...why start 1.5 months early? especially when it will hardly help!

but to each his own.

Isaaq: im just worried about not doing eco/bus at hsc level and i realise there is a fair amount of eco in actuarial and applied finance, im not studying hardcore im not studying really im just reading a little bit, to familiarise myself with some of the shit to make it easier for me when i go back...

Flyin': i will have to buy all the textbooks and i am aware that for most subjects i wont really need them but still, i need to buy the textbooks coz u never know when it comes in handy

i did econ in hs and almost crapped my first econ subject coz i kept thinking its ok coz i did it in hs...
so if u dint do econ in hs its not that bad a thing

the only helpful hsc subject would be SD. ppl that did SD found 2/3 of comp115 easy
