my creative is about belonging to place...any tips on tranforming to a question about identity??

if the question is about identity in general, can you write about his loss of identity because he doesnt belong??

Belonging and a sense of identity are prettymuch the same thing. You can't have one without the other.

Yeah if its in general you can write about both or one or the other
