Hey people, for English, we have to find two of our own sources which relates to the topic; the outsider. I already found one, a song, My Generation by The Who. I need to find another source that isn't a song, so it has to be a movie, book or even a poem.
The problem is, I need to find quotes that portray the outsider in the text and other annoying little things.
So, if anyone has a suggestion for an outsider related source, I'd love to hear it.

Cheers

Try "The Wedding Banquet" (movie). Although, if you need to do annotations as well, something in print might be easier.

found this on the web at Your Poetry Dot Com - Featured Poem - The Outsider, From - -Sinner-.

I walk the streets at night,
alone for I belong no where.
The street lights make my path,
and I walk it to god knows where.

I see friends laughing by the side of the road,
and I watch for a time.
But I never know I will belong,
for I am the outsider on the road.

I feel like I am a child,
looking through the glass.
Seeing everyone inside,
knowing I never can go inside.

It hurts being a heart without a home,
never feelings like one of the group.
Always feelings like you could be lost,
in the seas of emotions and feelings.

Why do things have to be like this?
Why do I always feel so alone?
In a group or with my family,
there always seems to be just me.

At times I feel like I am losing my mind,
holding all my feelings in.
Never feeling like I belong anywhere,
I just want to run until fate takes me.

Is this how life is suppose to be for some?
To just be a passerby,
to roam the streets alone.
Never truly belonging?

I want to believe in god,
to believe there is a higher power.
But if god has a plan,
was I just lost in the shuffling of lives?

I would suggest 1984 by George Orwell. Its not too challenging but it does really get you thinking. I think its one of those texts that everybody has to read during their life, so why not study it in depth?

'The crucible' works pretty well if you can be bothered to read it.
