higher uai doesnt mean higher value - it means that theres more demand/less places
commerce is a very broad topic - thus it gives u more job opportunities and you can do a major in eco in it at most unis - economics degree is more specialised in economics - less jobs to choose from, but u have a greater knowledge within the eco area then u would get in a major...

u can also do a commerce/eco double degree...altho that might get boring as it is a lot of the same stuff...

astro: glad to be of some help - i hope it works out for u, and if you keep up mathethmatics you will surely be able to cope at uni, it must may require a lil extra help from tuturs - if you dedicate yourself you will achieve :)
i think im juggling between law/eco or law/commerece in uni............hav to think about that

Ps

a little extra thort- do 2unit coz if u do general u will definately get scaled down. The highest u can get after general is 80- and thatz if u get 100% in everything...so agreei9ng wiv whoeva said it- it is definitely betta to do lowish mediocre in higher level, than do brill at a lower level...
good luck!

i see a problem in the gap between 2u and general......
there is such a difficult jump between the two courses ........
i reckon if u can do 1/5 of 2u alright...u can excell in general

pcx_demolition017 has to use his words clearer ... finance is associated with stockbroking and all the comlicated things.......
if u mean commerece and economics........they are different
but yea bcomm is a broad degree and becon is more specialised
