Hey guys, I got a left over GFX card from an upgrade for a computer which uses onboard video memory.

The GFX is a ti4200 128, it says x8 AGP, can it be compatible with a mobo with only x2/x4 AGP?

Also, that computer has 256mb, split with 32 for Video and 232 for applications, is there anyway to 'transfer' back that 32 for Video to CPU?

- Thanks guys :)

Whether a 8x card would be compatible with a 4x slot can't be answered straight away, but heres a little article about it. Just to note: AGP 2.0 is 4x, AGP 3.0/3.5 is 8x

When you have the video card plugged in, your BIOS should detect this and disable VGA memory so you would have all 256MB for system use.

The most important thing is not to run a 1.5v vard in a 3.3v slot, and vice versa. Otherwise it should work backwards in 2x/4x.
