Ah, yeah application of calculus question (1 Viewer)

Ok, I just need a little help

The question is. A body falling under gravity falls s metres in t seconds, where s = 4.9t^2

If the body hits the ground after 4 seconds from what height did it fall and what was the velocity at impact.

How do you do the first part of the question? The second bit is easier, you just sub the time t(4) into into the first derivative.

Sounds easy, I have an idea that you just make it = 4 or something but yeah.

Well you have s=4.9t², t=4 and you need to find s, so simply substitute t=4 into that equation to find s.

Ah, stupid calculator. I did that and it gave me some other answer. =P

I probably didn't square it. Oh well.
