- it helps ppl's gradual adaptation to hypoxic (oxygen deficient) conditions

- three phase process

- phase 1 - increase ventilation due to increased Oxygen demand.

- phase 2 - body produces more red blood cells

- phase 3 - increased capillarisation of muscle cells and more oxidative enzymes in the blood

- takes around 2 to 3 weeks to be effective

hey, just letting you know that altitude training and acclimitisation were in the 2002 HSC paper, so they probably (hopefully, cause i dont know them well!) wont be in this years!!
