So this is my first year a business degree (started in Feb), planning on majoring in Accounting. I've missed all the dates for applying for all these programs that help you get a job when you graduate. For the example the Ernst and Young Career Compass Program, I missed out on because I thought the closing date for applications was 30th Sept.

How am I going to get into a Vacationer/Internship program next year?? Am I screwed???

No. Relax, you are only in first year.

Go get a casual job at McDonald's or Target etc.

This.

Although those things help they aren't absolutely key, focus on marks and other extra-carriculars for now.

You will find those who complete cadetships or go through a Coop program are more employable upon graduation or will rise the corporate ranks quicker. However, if you are looking for an opportunity like the rest of grads, then you are not screwed at all. Find yourself a job that you enjoy while you are at uni and hopefully it pays well. But you may find that business may or may not be your calling during the course of your uni undergrad career

You should try to focus on marks and other extra-carriculars regarding your studies. Getting a job isn't the absolute key. Experiential Design
