The slides are pulled from the Analyst Day call that was held yesterday (and meshes with what what showed off in the June call as well).

The slides say 2007, but speculation is that they could go to it by end of 2006 provided they get a good roll out of 65nm (which all indications show they are).

Another interesting tidbit showed that the Opterons will get L3 cache, (don't know about the desktop chips). We'll see dual-core Turions by next winter in the wild as well, so for people in the market for a notebook.. wait till next year and we may see some dual-core Pentium Ms from Intel too.

Oh, and Socket M2 and 1207 will be a bridge socket from the upcoming dual core parts to the quad cores, so it sounds like there will be an upgrade path from 2 core to 4 core without needing new mobo (however, I find that hard to believe unless they're going to switch from DDR2 to DDR3 support mid-product again like they're doing next autumn).

Anyhow, all REALLY cool stuff. Sounds like they're still ahead of Intel in many ways.

Theres been talk of these since before the dual cores were released, although it was estimated to be 2008 then, nice to see they are gonna be here earlier, especially since there was talk of Intel having quad cores out in early 2007, though I haven't heard anything about them since so I'm assuming that AMD just might have quad cores out first which is great news in my opinion :)

You know what I'm happy about? LoL.. cuz I'm in the market for a laptop and if this forces Intel to go dual-core Pentium M then that's what I'm waiting for.. actually to be honest I probably couldn't wait 6 months since I'm planning a purchase in less than 5 weeks. -_-

Run the fan backwards then hold little mike nearby, that might help.
