Hey,

Just a quick question. A friend of mine told me that I can make my computer into an amp for my pass, obviously have an output through the speakers (or my $150 Sennheiser ear phones :p). How would I go about this? I'm guessing the bass cable would have to be converted into a mic cable?

Thanks.

you meant bass right?
you cant anyway. i mean you can plug your bass into your computer, but unless you wanted to digitally process the signal, i see no reason why youd want to. for starters you'd need an audio interface or a high end soundcard because the adc on standard soundcards is fucking terrible, so youd lose alot of signal. secondly, you'd have to run your computer through an amplifier of some sort to get it loud enough to be heard over the other instruments, which completley defeats the purpose. unless you have a good, high wattage pair of active speakers.
