Hi Everyone! Hope you guys are doing well :)
I am just having some trouble with this poem. I am not sure how to analyse it. Our teacher said to find techniques and all around analyse, and i was hoping some of you will help me :)

Always we forget. Life is a journey.
I have lived well in this
eastern surburbs resting place,
food in the cupboard
and birds in the park
a spool of city traffic
sirens at night, police.

Late in my days come
different expectations, shadows.
It is the opening of a door
that is always ajar, for
a new cat to look into the room
the sound of new voices.

The white camellia is in bud
Imagine how the new people
will gasp at its purity.
I will not forget the dancing tree tops
or the currawong on the deck

Maybe my starw sandals shock you
or the fear of robbers on a mountain pass
or fever in a lonely shack,
pain, in one form or another
Things that happen.
I will not forget my friends, who
must believe, this is but another journey.

thank you so much <3

you would have to find a technique, give an example, and relate the example in this case, to the journey :p
e.g.

>>food in the cupboard
and birds in the park
a spool of city traffic
sirens at night, police.

Late in my days come
different expectations, shadows.
<<
you could say that this is imagery (as well as contrast) and the effect in relation to journeys -> delivers the contrast between what is already there and what is going to happen later

>>It is the opening of a door
that is always ajar, for
a new cat to look into the room
the sound of new voices.<<

imagery -> where the cat opens up to new things in their life. (journey through life in this case)

seems like there's quite a lot of imagery in this poem

btw where is this poem from? :O
