Okay, so I've just finished reading this and was really disapointed....its written by Eoin Colfer who wrote the artemis fowl books and is very humourous, full of witty names (an actor named Mr E. Mowt for instance) but really seems to change to focus away from arthur Dent onto an irishman named Hillman Hunter....

Colfer even goes so far as to remove on of Zaphods heads from his body and give a reason for him having two in the first place. As a continuation of the books, it fails miserably because, if one has only ever read the books, they would be completly lost, it continues on from stavromual beta, never actually reached in the novels and makes seems only to care about the radio series.

Colfer creates alien species left, right and centre including a species that live in the stomachs of vogons! And talkng about vogons, Colfer creates a child for prostetnic jeltz, only to make him graceful and almost loving...in other words, he destroys the integrity of the species.

People named before arthur dent include Random, Her husband, Ford, and trillian. Colfer gives Wobagger the Infinitly Prolongued a first name (although Wowbagger appeared to be a first name) and then attempts to kill him off (if you wish to find out if the attempt was successful, read to book or PM me).

The number 42 is only mentioned once and it appears almost forced, its so early in the book it fails as a use of stimulus.

All in all, an enjoyable book but possibly too far from what Adams originally intended.

That's what pissed me off the most about this book.

I bought it, read halfway through it and then had to start studying more often for the HSC so I haven't gone back to it yet.
However, I just cannot call it "The sixth book in the Hitchhiker's series".
