People why bother still replying? This read was started by an 06er. Also Fenris can't you read? The thread title calls for "Anglo-Saxon females" of which you are neither.

10

4. Have you noticed that there is more pressure from your parents to do well at school now that you are a senior student (as opposed to junior years)?
a Yes

5. Please name all the subjects where you receive pressure from your parents
Drama, English Advanced and Extension 2 in particular

6. Do you attend tutoring?
a Kind of I have seen a guy twice about helping me with my English X 2 major work..
b No, if so, please go to question 10

7. Please name all subject/s you receive tutoring for: English x2

8. Why do you attend tutoring? Please choose any that apply

d Other; please state My teacher is not offering me the help and support I need in this particular subject

9. How many hours of tutoring to do attend each week? I've only gone twice since I started the HSC and that was for an hour each time

10. Approximately how many hours a week do you study? Not sure

11. What do you want to be when you grow up / what industry do you wish to work in? Either theatre, journalism or history

12. Do your parents support your career choice?
a Yes although they would much prefer if I was an actor and they put pressure on me to follow this career path rather than journalism (weird I know!)

13. Do your parents expect you to attend tertiary education?
a Yes

14. Do you plan to attend tertiary education?
a Yes; If so, what kind of institution do you wish to attend most?
-University or NIDA

15. Do your parents get angry at you if you do not do well in an exam?
b No they don't. I feel the pressure however when I do really well and they are so proud of me and are obviously happy. Their expectations rise with each assessment and I want to keep them happy. I do not think my parents would ever shout at me or anything but they'd certainly look disopointed and I would feel very bad.

16. Do you have high expectations for yourself in regards to your school marks?
In a way. I have very high expectations for individual assessments at school but I realise in the HSC I am competing against all you wonderfully smart people so I don't expect anything spectacular for a UAI

17. Do your parents have high expectations for yourself in regards to your school marks?
a Yes I think so. They try to hide it but I think they do. Like me though they do not expect a fantastic UAI

18. Do you believe sometimes that your parents push you too far/ pressure you too much in regards to your education?
b No but I think their expectations for how much I study and pressuring me in the completion of work etc is too much. Often they advocate me to take on outside school stuff just telling me I have to organise my time better to cope with the extra stress

19. Do you find it difficult to keep up with your parents expectations in regards to your school marks?
Yes and no. Yes in the sense it is a constant reminder before assessments not to have to tell my parents I did badly but no in that I haven't seriously failed them yet.

20. Will your parents be upset if you do not do well in your HSC?
a Yes to be blunt. They will try to hide it but ultimately they would be disopointed

21. Do your parents often compare you to others who do well in school?
They used to alot but now they realise it upsets me so much they have stopped. A lot of their praise comes however in comparing my effort with my peers which is probably a bad thing...

Good luck with your research!
