koalas have the smallest brains per body weight in any marsupial, small brain size was selected because running a brain takes so much energy and there's bugger all to get from eucalyptus leaves

you could say they were like the abos of the animal world

they can't just eat any of them though, they need particular species that put enough nitrogen and phosphorus in their leaves, that's why people say they're "threatened" but they've been culled on kangaroo island before because down south they've got the good shit
