Dude, all media is biased. It's just the same as here. A country's political stance doesn't tend to be reflected in its media. As everywhere, it exists to sell itself. The Swiss media is quite funny in the way it constantly stirs up the country to believe that they are going to be invaded. Or their financial security is threatened. It can actually be quite racist (just the same as here).

But you said Western media, not just the US.

Western implies the US a lot, as a "leader" of the West if you will, a country which sets media and mainstream benchmarks, regardless of how unwillingly it does it, from the point of view of the people living in other western countries.

But in general, all western media is biased, this stems from the fact that most western media is owned by very few people, whom are all connected to elitists/government, etc.

US media bias and general propaganda grew exponentially during the Cold War and remains strong. In many ways, it's part of a general US propaganda campaign. And that's not to say that the US is the only country which does it, but certainly to a bigger extent than anyone else.
