Anyone have a clue as to when the scholarship offers for '09 will be out?

Mainly the Regional scholarship and Merit?

yeah i got an email for the national undergraduate one about 2 weeks ago

What are the scholarships? ie value, conditions, etc?

the national undergrad one is like the scientia, UAI 99.9+ or equivalent, you keep it for the duration of the program but have to maintain a certain WAM (70+ i think). it's a bit more money ($12 500 p.a) but that extra moolah will get soaked up by your residential college fees.

national merit scholarships are UAI 99.5+, WAM 70+, $6500 p.a.

regional ones are for people from certain regions in Australia, based on UAI or equivalent and community work...

there are more but i can't remember them all

I didn't recieve my offer of a region scholarship until about week 3 in semester 1, but I think mine was strange...

maybe email them? lol. The 6.5k one is meant to be automatic: ie. if you get the uai, you get the money.

Phillipa Weekes Scholarship in Law (regional Law Scholarship) I was told is being decided on Monday (the 12th) and contact would be made soon after.

Oh gosh, I was really gagging for a Regional Scholarship...

Has anyone heard for that one yet? How did you find out; email or letter? Is ANU in the business of sending rejection letters to ease curiosity?

Philipa Weekes? I think they just send you a letter if successful. Give the faculty a call and they should ease your worries and answer your concerns.

And no, noone would have heard from that yet.

mine came via email, i guess it could depend how close you live to canberra though

called anu to check when regional merit ones are out, they said 25th at the earliest and could be into early feb before everyone hears.
