Asqy Last word

and yes Rorix im going to use emotion and ethics

Vote Labor for a future that is not dominated by politics of fear, social conservatism and rampant individualism. I fear Australia is socially stagnating, we are loosing our ability to question to criticise, we are heading in the direction of becoming automatons in a world that holds money as more important that another notions or ethics, fairness, equality of opportunity, human rights and peace.
John Howard's vision is a narrow vision. His social policy takes us back to the 1950s his use of the race card was disgusting. IMO he cannot be trusted. He is the Ultimate maipulator. His constant winks and remarks that can be interpreted by the far right as supportive of their cause is also disturbing...

The deal with the CDP and the Family first party is also disturbing. I deride the involvment of parties that push a line that seeks to impose moral guidlines on peoples lives...and comdemns gays. Their offficial policies are not radical however their support based often is. The fact that there are people who advocate the killing gays and who tell me that im going to hell to burn to death because i dont believe on the CDP website is deeply disturbing. Even more disturbing is that the liberals have done a preference deal with them.

I would much prefer to have pot for sale over the counter than have right wing nutjobs telling me how immoral i am...

John Howard has managed to destroy (stretch whatever) 50 years of international law. He has embraced the far right wing. He continues to lie and deny it...

My views are littered through through other threads...

Despite this i predict the ALP will win the majority of the votes but will not secure enough seats...

what he said.
Latham all the way. shut up, I'm allowed to barn him, and besides I can't construct a coherent argument with maths on the brain 24/7. fuck the HSC.

My final thoughts, what I find disturning, is that if the Howard government come through they will:

Continue on its path of privatization and conservative elitism, destroy our universal healthcare system, continue to push our once excellent government schools into further decreptitude, increase university fees so they become prohibitive to many, turn a blind eye to crucial environmental issues in favour of shorter term economics and push us further away from our traditional egalitarian ethos into a more *Americanized* social/ political system.

What, privatisation? Compared to sole ownership by the state?

hrm.. voting. its a fools game really. In the end its supposed to tell us who we think is better suited to govern our country. And as nice as that sounds it doesn't make any sense at all, who are we to judge them? What previous experiences do we have in those areas to make a logical, educated choice between the over publicised and the under publicised? On that same idea how can any of us honestly say we believe that any of the things said in the lead up to the election will actually occur? Pretty dandy as it all is for those who are behind it all, waht a mess it seems to be from out here. Propoganda on top of promises on top of smear campaigns on top of general political bullshit. A fools game indeed... personally i'd compare it to gambling.. slots n such things. You put your trust in the dealer/machine, you give them your money and then hope for the best. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. In the end though you always end up coming out the loser, because gambling is a fools game... all lights and pretty pictures with like politics nothing much to back it up.

So who's going to 'win' this round of the game... libs by alot... or latham by a little.. there are alot of swinging voters and alot of tension over how this road shows been run.. and run ragged. Also the more annoying those pamplet guys/gals are the less chance you wanna vote for their party :p
