http://community.boredofstudies.org/KISS, ALICE COOPER, SMASHING PUMPKINS Tracks Confirmed For Next 'Guitar Hero' Game - May 23, 2007 iTWire reports that classic tracks by KISS, ALICE COOPER and SMASHING PUMPKINS are among the songs that will appear on the next Guitar Hero game, due this spring (fall/autumn in the northern hemisphere). Tracks confirmed by Activision are as follows:

ALICE COOPER - School's Out
BEASTIE BOYS - Sabotage
FOGHAT - Slow Ride
HEART - Barracuda
KISS - Rock And Roll All Nite
LIVING COLOUR - Cult of Personality
MUSE - Knights of Cydonia
SMASHING PUMPKINS - Cherub Rock
TENACIOUS D - The Metal
THE ROLLING STONES - Paint It Black
WEEZER - My Name is Jonas

Dusty Welch, head of publishing at Activision's RedOctane operation said "many of the top bands and songs we've tried to get in the past are now on board, and we've definitely got some giant aces in the hole to say the least."

Welch said the "new line of Gibson wireless guitars for each platform is going to truly add to the authentic rock star experience like no other."

The game itself keeps the features you know and love, adding a multiplayer battle mode, authentic venues and even more downloadable content. Price, rating and even the official title have yet to be announced.

While the lineup for Coachella does not include a much-hyped Smashing Pumpkins performance as rumors portended, the band does seem headed for a reunion. Melissa Auf Der Maur, former Pumpkins replacement bassist, told Billboard.com: “As long as Billy has Jimmy [Chamberlain], he can make the essential Pumpkins record.” Sources say that Corgan will be joined by Chamberlain and Billy Mohler in the studio to record new material. Guitarist James Iha and original bassist D’arcy Wretzky are not currently linked to the project.
