If anyone did a Bachelor of Science and then went onto do Masters of Pharmacy can you please answer a few questions:
- Did you have to do prerequisite subjects throughout the life of B Science?
- How did you apply for M Pharmacy?
- Did you have to do any other tests eg. GAMSAT?
- Did you have to have high grades?

The entry criteria for Master of Pharmacy includes:
- Bachelor degree with 5.5 GPA
- Prerequisite subjects (42 out of 54 credit points of 12 x chemistry, 12 x pharmacology, 12 x physiology, 6 x biochemistry, 6 x human biology, 3 x calculus, 3 x statistics)
- GAMSAT
- Pharmacy case study scenarios

Alternatively, as Doomah suggested, you can transfer into Bachelor of Pharmacy after one year of full-time tertiary study - you should be able to get credit for some chemistry and biology subjects. However, this is extremely competitive as only 15-20% of the quota can be given to transfers. In previous years, a D average (6 GPA) was required. You also need a STAT result of 150+.
The two pathways are the same in length (B Sc + M Pharm = 3 + 2 = 5 years, B Sc + B Pharm = 1 + 4 = 5 years) and you will have the same career prospects and professional recognition (although some people do feel that Master > Bachelor). The main difference is the cost, as you can study B Pharm in a Commonwealth Supported Place but you will have to pay full fees for M Pharm.
