No, it isn't. You can do ESL and be accepted into UNSW med. But I would suggest you get a written confirmation of that from somebody involved in the selection process.

Yes this is true, but read the medicine faculties FAQ and they said for 2003, the median cutoff they took was 98.

The whole 95-100 thing means that if you get at least 95 and a top percentile in UMAT, you will be granted an interview for UNSW.

mediuim was 98? i'd hav guessed it would b closer 2 99 since they hardly interviewed anyone with a UAI /estimate less than 98

the 1st round interview is based on an UAI estimate given by your acsemic advisor/principal. the late rounds are based on the actual UAI (for cases where your actual results greatly exceeded the earlier estimate)

unless you did really well in your UMAT its unlikely that u'll b interviewed if either of the above is below 98 (i think if u got high 97.xx then u might still hav a chance..)

at unsw anyway

i think you can get into a med course at mac with relatively low uai, but i don't know what you do with it? mayb ego to syd or nsw later? i don't know, but you can't study med at mac in the end. probably better to go to usyd and transfer if that's possible

umm about the forms..
make sure u learn to do them early one of the "informal" selection process...form filling... if u cant figure them out.. ure prolly not cut for med.. j/k
with ppl who filled in the form incorrectly
- confusing HECS-bonded with normal HECS which in Vic is easy since they are 2 separate courses ..
- extra forms for UNSW.. they are sooo many.. :| like 4 things..
-SA closes very early.. i almost didnt apply :S
make sure u read it carefully

nope, the only pre is english (advanced or higher) .. and chem is considered 'relevant' ... i think they only accept pple in that do at least one science (probably chem?) for the HSC.
You don't even have to do English Advanced to get into UNSW Medicine. Go read the UNSW Medicine website. They highly recommend that you do English Advanced, but its not compulsary.

I don't know anyone that would want to do medicine if they don't even do at least one of the two specialist science courses in the HSC (biology and/or chemistry). Physics I don't think is that related to Medicine, unless you intend on doing nuclear medicine.
