Well have fun waiting for a 30GB+ flash memory player to come out.. because it ain't gonna be soon.treelovinhippie said:I'm just gonna wait until they release a video ipod nano-style (i.e. small)
Dude, 30GB flash is only 2 x Samsung 16GB NAND flash... and they'll easily have 32GB single flash chips by the end of next year.JKDDragon said:Well have fun waiting for a 30GB+ flash memory player to come out.. because it ain't gonna be soon.
Also if a player is gonna have video capabilities, I think it would be crap to integrate it into something Nano sized? The screen would be so piss tiny.. it would seem to be irrefutably pointless to me, personally.

By nano, I mean the actual thickness... yes a nano-sized screen would suck.
Exactly. Integrating erm.. TWOx Samsung's 8-gigabit NAND modules at the max 16GB each to an mp3 player by the end of next year, that's still going to be exorbitantly expensive.Templar said:Dude, do you know how much 16GB NAND flash modules cost?
the Apple site says 15 hours of music playback for the 30Gid and 20 hours for the 60Gig... I wonder what the difference is for video playback?Templar said:The 30GB iPod actually has worse battery life playing music than the Photo version. The 60GB is a different story.
I think the battery life varies between 3 and 8 hours depending on what sort of video you're playing etc.N.U.G. said:the Apple site says 15 hours of music playback for the 30Gid and 20 hours for the 60Gig... I wonder what the difference is for video playback?
one other question, what videos do people actually play on their ipod? I can imagine playing the occasional music video but can't think of anything else really?
I thought i read somewhere it was about 3hrs videoN.U.G. said:the Apple site says 15 hours of music playback for the 30Gid and 20 hours for the 60Gig... I wonder what the difference is for video playback?
good pointJKDDragon said:Just my opinion, but I don't personally care about the video capabilities. Many reviews I've seen aswell basically just label it down as 'Buy it for the music player'.. and I couldn't agree more. Get it for the music.. and just view the video capability as a side-function which you can even practically ignore if you don't need it. Just that some people think 'WOWz0rs this thing can play videos, that means I'm gonna be worthless and it's gonna be a total waste if I buy this and don't actually use it as a video player' etc.
