great photos but honestly, who goes backpacking and gets around in a jag
The Jag was only around for two days, and was my uncle's, who I visited in Philadelphia.

The rest of the backpacking was purely done on Amtrak, the subway, cable car, and Amish horse and buggy (And I ain't bullshitting the last one either!)

Thanks mate!

The 3rd pic, was taken in one of those seedy suburbs in Philly, taken from an elevated subway platform. Was waiting for the train and looked down and though "Ewwww... that'll make a good shot!"

As for the Granville pic, I was off-duty at the time, and thought that would make a funky pic!

Into photography -- yerrrrrp...

No formal school style training. Won a Kodak CX6330 as a door prize.
Year or two with that then got convinced to move up in the world.
Bought a Nikon D50 (haha, an entry level to cope with my ignorance)
Using a Nikkor DX 18-55mm (yesyes, kit...)
Going the cheap escape instead of shelling a few grand for a dedicated macro..
So on the market for filters..
Generally shooting set-up stills, landscapes, wherever I am...

Interested in learning portraiture - if any one feels like sharing tips..
I'm not comfy shooting people =P

Aiming to enter some local shows this year..

*** Anyone know of a good printing place that boards them for you as well?

I'm extremely interested in photography... and also photo manipulation..

I generally don't get very good pics if i actually go out looking for something to photograph - i just carry a camera with me everywhere and sometimes get some good stuff. I seem to have an obsession with sunsets, that no one else does. Ha.

My deviantart... is http://goosiegoo.deviantart.com if anyone wants to see anything.

Here's a few of the photos in that gallery...

Sorry about the big files...

I'm currently using a prosumer, Finepix S9600.

I love photography. Personally the last few stand out. The faming is nice and i expecially like how you have suceeded in maximising the light from the bridge. Just wondering what the settings were and whether you used any filters. Also did you clean them in photoshop because if you did it was a cracker of a job. Excellent how you have managed to manipulate the spectrum of colours without damaging their exposure.

I have been lucky enough to have some of my work in a paddo gallery last year. It was a equine theme exhibition for me. It was a great experience and i continue to photograph now. I shoot with a Canon 20D with a 75-300mm and a stock 18-55mm, i am hoping next to get a quality flash or maybe a straight 400mm lens.

If you are looking to step up in photography and get a DSLR i would recommend looking around for second hand camera. If you have a friend who knows a bit about cameras i would recommend taking them along. I bought mine from Whiltons on elizebeth street in the CBD.

As per the title, is anyone here into photography?

I did it in year 11, but I was doing it as a hobby later in year 10, so school sorta pushed it along, now I've got an awesome Digital SLR and a few lenses - going to spend a few grand and start sports photography next year (going to start small, local clubs then try and work my way up).

Here are some photos mostly taken in the last 12 months.

For the record it's a Canon EOS 10D with 24-85 USM lens. Feel free to contribute your thoughts on photography or photos.

Love photography
LOVE your work!
Good job :)
