To my knowledge and what teachers have told me, A.H is regarded an 'Easy' subject, so to get scaled positively for it you have to do really well (high band 5 to band 6)

Don't count on that though

That is what I meant mad cat.. since its an 'easy' course.. if you do bad in it.. it scales you bad.. thus being a bad scaling subject.

But its not like if you get 95 in it.. it will scale you down to 70 lol.

In comparison to Modern History, Ancient History is less difficult.
Also more people do Ancient History than Modern History; even more competition.

ancient is alot to learn... if you do it.. you all would know that!!

ancient is not an easy subject! it takes alot of interpretation... and answering the question to the examiners liking! they can get so picky... i got.. 3rd top mark in the trials at my school.. and i got 76! ... it is really hard to get like.. 100% in ancient history.. just because there are so many interpretations of what you are studying... gahhh

i dont think ancient history scales badly.

if you do well.. you do well..

yeah its not easy.

but its not hard to get over 80%

if you know your stuff and are good at remembering dates and interpreting sources then your fine.

but because there is so much to learn doesnt mean that it scales high even if you do bad.

its just the way it is.

Not badly.
It doesn't scale as well as Modern History and the sciences, but better than drama, art etc.

I thought that Ancient scaled higher than Modern cause more people do Ancient...

But yea, just try our bests and not worry about scaling cause its not gonna affect your choice now to study Ancient anyway. But man its so boring atm...

scaled mean of ancient history: 25.0 (not scaled up or down)
scaled mean of modern history: 27.4 (scaled up)

anything above 25 is scaled up, anything below 25 is scaled down.

Thanks for this.
Well I hope this year, that it scales good. :)
I only got 80% for the trials this year, I hope I do even better in the HSC exam tomorrow.

Guess my UAI is screwed then. I've been slacking off the entire course and I'm about to pay for it finally.

Stupid distance education. T_T
