Well, I'm doing up my proposed program form and I've run into some issues with the 100 level subjects.

There's 11 100 level subjects and I've read that I'm not meant to have more than 4 per semester. So do I just pick 8 and leave 3 for next year?

yes and no...make sure you do stat170 this year, and do econ141 next year (common way of doing it).

Remember, you can do both Accg1A AND 1b, OR you can just do Accg105.

BTW there isn't 11 100 level units THAT YOU HAVE TO DO in your program, you've read it wrong. Refer to the above line on the accounting units. Additionally, you dont do both stat171 and stat170, you just ONE. I strongly recommend you only do Stat170, since 171 is designed for actuarial students and is unnecessarily difficult for AppFin purposes.

You will only have to choose ONE computing unit. I recommend ISYS123, since you dont need any real programming in your degree. There is no rush for this unit (u can do it next year if u want) since it isn't a prerequisite for anything.

Yeh, I saw the "Or"s there. I must've miscounted something.

Required one of COMP units or ISYS units
Does that mean both of one type of those courses (ie COMP115, COMP125) or just one (ie COMP115)?

yeh one, but i dont recommend you do comp115, isys123 is much easier and sufficient for your degree.

COMP115 is programming, ISYS123 has nothing difficult in it.

COMP115/125 etc. are commonly taken by computing (BIT/BSC/eBusiness etc) (and actuarial) students to satisfy the prerequisites of future courses, none of which you'll have to do.

Computing will be a once off thing for you, unless you want to choose computing electives.

isys123

These are the only 100 level units u need for appfin, isys123 is not a pre req for any furthur subjects, so u can do it any time u like, u can even do it last!

I suggest u do105 instead of 100 and 101, its much easier, and do 170 instead of 171, 171 is for acst students only.

These subjects are the best if u r not into programing or serious accounting

ACCG105 isnt offered in Semester 1. You are right though, as an AppFin student you're better off just doing 105.

Your best option is to push econ141 to second year, and do accg105 then.

I propose:

S1 2007
something such as isys123/mktg101 or anything really
econ110
law114
stat170

s2 2007

econ111
accg105
law104
acst101

2008
econ141 which is offered in both
if you chose mktg or something instead of isys, do the isys in this year
if you chose isys last year, do mktg or whatever the hell u want in 2008 as well.

Okay, so im doing app fin/law and.. i havent done maths, and maths is a pre-req for econ 110 or 111 or something.. so i thought "ill do maths 123 in first semester" and.. a very long story short, im trying to include maths 123 as one of my subjects, but it wont let me add anymore. As in, I cant add any other units, that arent on the recommended app fin/law list thingo.
This is all done on e-student.

Anyone know how to fix the problem?
OHHHHH and could i just do a bridging course? or do i have to do a maths unit in first semester.

Help would totally be appreciated!

if u havent done maths, your gonna be in trouble, HSC 2unit maths is way easier than maths 123, any maths at uni is astronomically harder than hsc2 unit.
