This rumour has been bandied about for ages now. More importantly, is the news from Apple that the next iPod will have a touchscreen and will be out before Christmas.
A bit quick for a release, just after the 80gig(and etc) release.

I'd like it a lot if ipods were able to do something like store powerpoint presentations, and be able to screen them like they do with video.
Ipod's not a piece of junk. I admit this is the second ipod, and the first I kept safe with all my heart because I earned every painful cent of it... but its flaws seems to have faded with each generation of ipods.
I already use my ipod to present my music presentations as well as use it to explain to people what I want achieved in the music I compose. Also, its ability to stereo-record is absolutely awesome. I don't need to lug around 50x the weight of what I'd usually need to carry to record music.
My friend's dad who's a massive photographer (he does politician's weddings, celebrities etc) uses the ipod to present a mini portfolio when he doesn't have his real portfolio around. Its a good boost to those in the media/entertainment/arts sector.
We do a bit of multimedia at uni, so the video part could really be of great use for me soon, when it gets demanding.
I really like these recent advancements...
