Which courses would you recommend I take for an Applied Maths major? If you have done any of the courses mention, how hard are they? For any of the courses, is it recommended I do one of the 3rd year Applied Maths courses mentioned before I take another MATH course the next semester?

It depends what part of applied maths you want to go into.
I think they recommended you do MATH3041 Mathematical Modelling for Real World Systems.
MATH3161 Optimisation seems to be a popular choice.
Anyway, you have a year to decide?

Optimisation sounds cool from the MATHSOC talk.

The maths modelling course; Optimisation; Dynamical systems and Chaos; PDEs.

You should also consider doing Higher Analysis, even though it is a Pure maths subject.

Computing, maybe.

asian gook. If I was doing maths I would be on 90WAM easy. Maths is piss easy.
Then what excuse do you have for your poor MATH1141 result? Did you eat your paper because you got hungry?

I think you need MATH2505 or something like that - some other computational maths course in second year - before you can do that.
