Its the time of year where we should be or seriously preparing to apply for all our courses. But ah, when do we have to apply for colleges if we want to get into the one we want most? What's the official deadline? How do i apply? etc. etc.
cheers.

I'm not sure if the applications for colleges at UNE have "officially" opened yet, but you generally apply by completing the online application form on the UNE website (go to "accommodation" link). Applications for first round offers is 30/11/06. Applications received after that date are processed in order of receipt. You will receive an official offer of accommodation when you receive an offer of a place from UAC.

You should get an info pack after you accept your offer of a place at U.N.E.

wow, the UNE thread has died down. my question is, do we have to change our address with the electrol office when we move to college? and what is the official address of earle page? and upon acceptance of the offer, how much do we have to pay? cheers. hopefully people still check this thread.

I don't know about electoral enrolment, bu the official address of the college is probably simply "Earle Page College, University of New England, Armidale NSW, 2351".

I don't know how EPC works it, but I don't recall paying immediately paying when enrolment was accepted. Duval has several varieties of payment on offer (ie year-long, term-based and monthly) and they usually like to know that you will be joining them before they ask you for payment. Once you've been offered a place at college and accepted it, you should receive a package in the mail. Ours simply had a letter saying "thanks for confirming", payment options and timetable for O Week.

I stayed at EPC for 5 years so have no problems answering your questions.

The official address for EPC is:

Earle Page College
University of New England
Armidale NSW 2351

For residents, you just add your name to the address. The mail is delivered each afternoon and placed into boxes near the dining hall.

The exact amount you have to pay each year to stay at college will vary. You'll get the details in your offer of a place at college. At EPC, you have the choice of paying by instalment or yearly (gives you something like a 3% discount). First year students will be expected to pay their first instalment at the time they accept their offer.

The question of whether you have to change your address with the electoral office will depend on where you consider home. In the 5 years I was at UNE, I did not change my electoral details as I did not consider it my permanent place of residence (ie: home). There tends to be a 50/50 spread of who/who doesn't change their electoral details.

lawgrad's point about electoral address also holds for driver's licences. I was afraid I'd have to change my licence details upon arriving in Armidale, but you don't have to do it. I had to send my pinkslip home to get rego done, though.
