How good are they for Ancient and Modern History?

I used Ken Webb for both Ancient and Modern History and they are pretty decent from a general point of view. Especially for Modern History, Ken Webb books can provide a good foundation for your studying, but by no means will the books take care of everything. More of an effective starting point.
