Are textbooks necessary for STAT170 and ACCG106? Thanks! (1 Viewer)

So basically my questions is, are the textbooks necessary for STAT170 and ACCG106? I'm aiming for a distinction. The reason I ask is because my friend wanted to sell me her old edition books for a really cheap price and I just got emails from the unit convenors saying the textbooks have changed and that the old textbooks will not be sufficient!

For ACCG106 yes. there are weekly tutorial exercise questions in the latest textbook.

I managed STAT170 without a textbook. The questions are pretty repetitive and straightforward. Enough practice will get you a HD and D without textbooks

I used the 4th edition textbook (white cover). Not sure if they've changed it for this semester. Just check your unit guide/outline for the correct textbook
