all of politics hav gone right ..
srsly.. look at UK and US... both are right leaning...

new labor in the UK was smart.. be as right as the tories and then they will look lik nazis..! went so far right that the damn conservatives (with prev. leaders lik thatcher) had to oppose the war ..

US they went real right from sept 11.... remember kids if ure poor.. it means ure goin to die... stay white.. ;)

i admit.. if i were in the 70's my moderate left would be kinda right leaning..

I agree with that
Yeah the political compass thing pretty much covered the spectrum of views on this board. just off the top of my head, keeping in mind that I come in here only spasmodically
left - Asqy, Ziff (he thinks he's too cool for us now though), leetom (extreme left lol):
Not an extremist. My sig isn't decorated with links to Marxist sites.

I'm a through and through centreist.

I'm 100% for a free market economy (lower taxes, welfare reform, privatising Telstra, cutting farm subsidies, etc.) but i beleive strongly in public health, public education, immigration, tolerance, etc. So I'm a capitalist leftie.

Does that just make me wierd?

Nah... that's much better than most people...
The only lefty views I find I can sympathise with are on public health, education, our immigration policy and perhaps their focus on helping out the marginalised in the community.

I also sit with mr shittles.

I am committed to both liberty and equality of indivuals and groups in society. Conflicts between the two oft opposing paradigms to be thought over at length. Though not over latte... does that mean im not left?

WAF is a righty, he just wanted to know...
More than likely it was some lefties joking, because they seem to have taken this poll as a joke unlike the more serious polls where u find out the forum = 4/5 lefty.

You might like to elaborate on the tone of that statement. If you are witch hunting, people can vote what they like. It's funny how the left like the idea of democracy and freedom, but will attack anyone who isn't the "same as them".
As above, I was just curious as to who it was.

I don't think that the majority is that great, but if we were to break it up between the regulars then it would be fairly balanced (from what I can gather, anyway).

I haven't voted, btw.

I'm left-wing on almost every subject. I just don't understand the empathy behind right-wing views.

Right. It's one of my life ambitions to see the current far left side of the political spectrum crushed and wiped off the face of the earth.

Loud anti-VSU union reps are not helping their cause.

Let me name a few people people who love democracy and freedom but will attack anyone who isn't the "same as them":

1. John Howard
2. Alexander Downer
3. George W. Bush
4. Donald Rumsfeld
5. Dick Cheney
6. Paul Wolfowitz

They aren't exactly warriors of the left!
