i was recently chatting to my friend and he suggested that art is a bad scaler and you only get good if you do good, in order to get a good scaling.. is this correct?
what do i do in art usually for year 11s .. is it like learning techniques and stuff? generally, i love art but sometimes when i dont have that patience and my mind blocks i dont have any good ideas!

go to uac's web site, and under the UAI section find table A3. this will tell you exactly how art scales compared to other subjects.

Well, I guess what your friend said is true, but that really goes for any subject. If you screw up in a higher-scaling subject, you're still going to get bad marks.
If you love art, then you don't really have much a problem :)
Plus, you have plenty of time to prepare for your Year 12 HSC Major Work, and that's what mostly counts for your Practical mark.
If you're really stuck, just go to your teacher for help. But yeah, you have ageeees to develop your idea, so don't worry ;)

No every subject is good scaling as long as you have a passion for it.

For example, i got 95 for Va in 2006 and 76 for 4u Maths.
