Singapore's first-ever prime minister, long-time government head and current political mentor Lee Kuan Yew talks about Asia's rise to economic power, China's ambitions and the West's chances of staying competitive.

This is a MUST READ.

The 'west' eh?

Plenty of eastern economies are already damn rich since the end of WW2 such as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore etc. It's not like China's development is anything new. After China you see other eastern countries developing too such as India and then probably Vietnam. It's a well run cycle.

The west doesn't have any kind of monopoly on economic development. The only western countries of much global economic significance would be USA, Germany, France and Britain.

His comment on democracy could be fixed by merely dividing up the electorates such that each had a vast majority of one race. This way each party would be forced to field candidates of that race, and the populous would be forced to choose based on policy.

That would only be possible if each race lived within its own clearly defined geographical 'area'. If they were mixed up a bit, then it wouldn't work.

..but this alone canot sustain its grow...even though india has done reforms every so often it also needs more globalisation and investment...

Define electorates not by location, but by the race each person identifies themselves as then.

How about you make your comment actually worth a little more than 2 cents and justify your opinion :)

Why not? Economically, the trend has been swing more towards the East Asian region and looks to continue.

He can't even be bothered reading the article, I doubt he's got the competence to assert a viable argument to his opinions.
