On a more serious note, just do it for fucks sake. Girls don't really like it when they know that a guy likes them but they take their time getting around to asking them on a date or whatever.. and if you take too long, she'll get over it (if she does feel something for you).

Yeah he should be able to just ask. But then again its easier to say then do sometimes.We sometimes get nervous when it comes to asking people out because we could be unsure about the way they feel or we don't want to ruin a friendship or whatever the case is.
But in the end if you want to be with someone you have to ask them out/make a move. Otherwise you may never know what could have been.
