Received my mark for ancient history today 60% for a weighting of 15 ?
for the first assessment i achieved 80 ( weighting 20% )
Would this affect my final assessment mark dramatically?
Final assessment mark aim : 80 for ancient.
thanks

after less than a minute with my calculator, i have concluded that:
- You have currently completed 35% of your internal mark, and of that 35%, received 25%. This means you currently are at 71%.
- If you want to receive a mark of 80 (even though ranking is what you should in effect be aiming for), you will need to gain 55% from the currently remaining 65%. This would mean averaging just over 84% in the rest of your assessments.

Tl;dr

Yes, you're perfectly capable of an 80 with good revision and rectifying your mistakes.

Its a waste of time worrying about percentages with regards to your HSC assesment mark. All the counts is your rank and how well you and your cohort performs on the HSC examination. Last year I had an assessment mark of 68% in SOR but I was ranked 4th overall. The 68% ended up being alligned to 88% on the final school assessment mark I got when I recieved my HSC results

Originally ranked 8/30. Now with the new mark of 60% due to effort placed in other assessments i'm not too sure . Teachers refused to give out rankings..
