Asterisks to add extra info (1 Viewer)

I was wondering if you're allowed to do that? Sometimes I add in an asterisk in the middle of a paragraph or end of one to insert more information. Does it detract marks because it shows bad structure?

I tend to do this a lot for Ancient and English when I have extra time or just forgot to add in something

Yes, I did a lot for english and ancient

Teachers never talk about it but I have a suspicion it confuses them or they mark me down for structure

you can do it, but it does tend to get messy. so do it if you have to.
