Say the ATAR cutoff for a course was 89 and they only accept 100 people, what happens when 150 people who apply get an ATAR above 89?

Thanks.

I rpesume if they are going to cut off 50 people, and all 150 coicidently have 89atar they'll look at specific subject marks, e.g if it was a science course they would look at peoples marks for their hsc courses.

But i doubt all 150 would get the same atar, so they would likely either take the extra 50 people in or let go of the bottom 50 people with the lowest ATAR.

err... the cut-off for a year is provided AFTER they selected their students, hence the cut-off will be higher than 89.

The 150 who apply will be the ones who determine the cut-offs
